In 1981, to celebrate the School’s 75th Jubilee and to mark the appointment of Old Boy Sir David Beattie as Governor General of New Zealand, the Trust Board established a fund to produce income to assist Old Boys in furthering their education.

These are prestigious awards and are limited to 2 or 3 Old Boys per year.

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be former pupils of Dilworth and must:

  • Be involved in tertiary level study towards a degree or diploma and/or
  • Have some worthwhile project in mind which will in some way benefit the community in which the applicant lives.
  • As there is already a Dilworth Trust Board Tertiary Support Scheme in place, preference for the awarding of a David Stuart Beattie Scholarship is given to Old Boys who are involved in post-graduate work, or whose particular course of study is out of the ordinary in terms of cost.
